Ashley Gudgeon

OSTEOPATH & SPEED PERFORMANCE COACH

I started using the T-Apex several months ago. Using it both in a clinical & performance setting. I have found it hugely valuable in gaining objective data in both a performance element (resisted sprints / isotonic function for rehab etc) but also using it as a general athlete monitoring tool. Helping me identify when my athletes are exhibting nervous system faitgue or not recovering from our overall workload. Looking forward to using the overspeed settings in the coming months for my sprinters.

TRACK APPLICATION

How T-APEX Fits Into a Track Session

Set up resisted starts, acceleration runs, and overspeed reps with controlled load and data feedback.

Connect the Athlete

Secure the waist belt and cable path for resisted or assisted sprint work.

Select the Mode

Choose resistance for starts and acceleration, or assistance for overspeed work.

Adjust Phase Load

Set stronger resistance for the first steps, then reduce load as speed builds.

Review and Refine

Use sprint time, load, and velocity feedback to adjust the next rep.

Train What Track Speed Demands

Train starts, acceleration, overspeed, and approach rhythm with controlled resistance and real-time feedback.

LOAD THE START

LOAD THE START

Focus: First-step, body angle, and early horizontal force.

T-APEX Setup: Add controlled resistance over the first 5–10m.

DRIVE THE ACCELERATION

DRIVE THE ACCELERATION

Focus: Drive mechanics, stride development, and acceleration rhythm.

T-APEX Setup: Keep resistance repeatable across 10–30m runs.

ASSIST TOP-END RHYTHM

ASSIST TOP-END RHYTHM

Focus: Max velocity, step frequency, and upright sprint mechanics.

T-APEX Setup: Forward assistance for controlled overspeed exposure.

Coach Case Study

Solving a 60m Speed Drop

Elite sprint coach Piotr Maruszewski uses T-APEX to support key phases of sprint training—from early acceleration to later high-speed work.

The Challenge

One of his top sprinters was losing step frequency after 60 meters, making it harder to maintain speed through the later phase of the race.

How T-APEX Was Used

Block Starts

Resisted starts without block interference.

Progressive Loading

Resistance tapers across each sprint phase.

Controlled Overspeed

Smooth assistance for high-speed work.

I can’t imagine myself without the T-APEX sitting on the track.

Why Coaches Choose T-APEX Over Traditional Resistance

Why Coaches Choose T-APEX Over Traditional Resistance Why Coaches Choose T-APEX Over Traditional Resistance

Traditional sled training relies on fixed weight and inconsistent surface friction.

Why Coaches Choose T-APEX Over Traditional Resistance Why Coaches Choose T-APEX Over Traditional Resistance

Resistance bands offer portability but lack precise load control and data capture.
